You are paying for six systems and using two.

Independent technology strategy for owners who are tired of being sold to by the person who is supposed to be advising them.

Here is the conflict nobody mentions. Your IT company makes money when you buy more. Your software vendor makes money when you renew. Neither gets paid to tell you that last year's purchase was the wrong one and you should turn it off. I do not sell software, hardware, or implementation services. That is not a slogan, it is the business model. It means when I tell you a system is worth keeping, you can believe me.

What I do here

  • Inventory what you own, what you pay for, and what anyone actually opens.

  • Match the tools to how the work really moves, not how a demo said it would.

  • Kill the dead weight and say so plainly.

  • Decide build versus buy on your numbers, not a vendor's roadmap.

  • Put a real security floor under all of it, because the businesses that get hit are almost never the ones anybody thought were a target.

Twenty five years across systems administration, managed services, virtual CIO work, and vendor risk. I have been on the vendor side of this table, which is exactly why I am useful on yours.

Most of this job is translation. The rest is telling somebody their favorite tool is the problem.

Questions owners ask

What is independent technology advice?

It means nobody pays me but you. Your IT company earns money when you buy more. Your software vendor earns money when you renew. I earn the same fee whether you buy, keep, or cancel, which is the only seat from which the advice stays honest.

Why not just ask my IT company?

Ask them. Then notice how often the answer involves buying something from them. Good IT companies do good work, and I recommend keeping the ones that earn it. But the person selling the tools should not be the only person picking them.

Do you help Suffolk County businesses choose software?

Yes. Build versus buy, renew versus replace, six systems down to the two you actually use. I sit on your side of the table, run the numbers on your business, and tell you plainly which tools are earning their keep.

What does a technology consultant cost?

A fixed fee, quoted after a free conversation. Compare that to what you are paying every month for software nobody opens, and the math usually gets uncomfortable fast.
